The title fight between the current UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman, and his challenger, Gilbert Burns, will be the main event of the UFC 251 tournament, which will be held on July 11 on the island of Yas in Abu Dhabi.
In the co-management of the license event, the current UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovsky, and the former holder of this title, Max Holloway, will hold a rematch, and in the third most important match of the tournament, Peter Jan and Jose Aldo will play the vacant UFC title in the lightest weight category.
The organization of title matches with reference to the president of UFC, Dan White, said the resource ESPN.
Recall that last December at UFC 245 in Las Vegas, Max Holloway lost the featherweight title, losing to Alexander Volkanovsky by a unanimous decision in five rounds, and the lightweight champion belt became vacant after UFC 249 in Jacksonville Henry Sehudo held a successful defense against Dominic Cruz and announced the completion of his professional career.
As for Kamaru Usman, it was initially assumed that he would fight with Jorge Masvidal, but since the organization could not make a deal with the former street fighter, Gilbert Burns got the title chance, who defeated former division champion Tyron Woodley in the dominant style at the end of last month.
