The UFC 252 tournament, the main event of which will be the title fight between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier, will be held on August 15 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and will be held without spectators in the stands.
“We will be the first to return fans to the stands as soon as the opportunity arises,” said UFC President Dana White, answering journalists’ questions about the possible presence of fans in the title fight of the heavyweights. “But I do not see that we will be able to do this in the USA in the near future. Rather, it will happen in another country, but not here. That is why I continue to adhere to the chosen course. We have an Apex arena. We have Fight Island, where we will soon begin to hold events. And I don’t even think about holding events with fans yet. Given the madness that is happening now in the world, everything is very good with us. ”
As you know, earlier the heavyweights had two fights. In the first match, held in July 2018 at UFC 226 in Las Vegas, Daniel Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic in the first round and took away his heavyweight title. A year later, on August 17 at UFC 241 in Anaheim, Miocic regained the championship belt, finishing Cormier with a technical knockout in the fourth round.
Regardless of the outcome of the third match, Daniel Cormier plans after him to announce the end of his professional career.
