Former UFC middleweight champion, Luke Rockhold, may resume his sports career before the end of the year, and is interested in rematch with Chris Weidman, who was taken away from the title five years ago.
The resource ESPN reports about this with reference to the fighter.
“Because I wanted it so,” ESPN quotes Rockhold’s response to the question of why he decided to return.
In December 2015, Luke Rohold finished Chris Weidman by technical knockout in the fourth round and became the new UFC middleweight champion, but already in the first defense lost his title, sensationally losing by knockout to Michael Bisping who accepted the fight on short notice. After that, Rockhold put his career back on track by finishing David Branch, but then suffered two knockout defeats in a row, losing to Yoel Romero in the middleweight division, and to Ian Blachovic in the light heavyweight division.
As for Chris Weidman, he won his first victory in three years last weekend, beating Omari Akhmedov by unanimous decision.
