Former UFC two-weight champion, Daniel Cormier, has revealed some details of the plan for the fight with Stipe Miocic, with whom the heavyweights will complete their principal title trilogy this weekend.
“The previous fight was good,” Cormier is quoted as saying by BJpenn.com. “I started well, however, Stipe made adjustments and took the victory. But in that battle, nothing happened that I could not fix. I plan to use wrestling more – I worked most of my life to acquire these skills, but hardly used them in that fight. Does this mean that I’m going to avoid the rack? In no case. The last fight was very competitive. ”
“However, I cannot stand for 25 minutes and face Stipe in a standing position. The smart way to win is to use all your skills. I’m looking forward to a very tough fight and I think Stipe will be in great shape. He will go into battle with confidence in his victory, but the reality is that I will destroy him. I’m going to win the fight, as I have done many times, and it will be my hand that will be raised.
The heavyweight title fight between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier will be the main event of UFC 252, which will take place on August 15 in Las Vegas.
