Curtis Blades calls the fight with Alexander Volkov “the greppler’s wet dream”

Curtis Blades, third in the UFC heavyweights rating, shared his thoughts on the upcoming fight against Alexander Volkov on June 20 at UFC Fight Night 172 in Las Vegas.

“I think this is a classic match between a grappler and a drummer, although I also beat in the bar well,” said Razor in an interview with MMA Junkie. “I definitely prefer to fight. He has long legs, but we have equal arms, so I don’t think that this will be one of the factors. He loves to keep his opponent at a distance with kicks, and I know that he will avoid the clinch zone. ”

“I know that he will not want to be captured, but that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I will press it, and press it to the grid. I think this fight is the wet dream of a grappler. Because we will fight in the small octagon, and this is in the hands of guys like me who want to grab their opponent as early as possible ”

Despite the fact that the fight was declared the main event of the event, the American heavyweight does not think that it will last all five rounds.

“I don’t think that we will go through five rounds – I strongly doubt it. It will be an early ending. Everything will depend on how quickly I manage to break it. ”
