The third UFC welterweight rating number, Jorge Masvidal, explained why he was not happy with the terms of the contract he signed less than a year ago, agreeing to hold eight fights.
“Before some fights, they review the current contract,” Masvidal tweeted. “So I got a new contract when I fought with Till, and then another when I fought with Nate. And each time they increased the number of fights that I have to conduct. When I said that I want the contract to have only four fights, they said – sign this, or fight on the same terms ”
“The contract is designed in such a way that if I lose, they can cut my fee, or even dismiss me. If I win, I cannot, on my own initiative, review its terms. My father escaped from the communist regime, so I know what that looks like. ”
“Why do all stars have problems now? Conor, Jones, Sehudo. Because we must accept this, or resign. I love to fight, and this is a battle for our lives. ”
Last weekend, the UFC president, Dana White, announced that he was not going to revise the contract with Jorge Masvidal, or to release him from the current agreement, which he signed less than a year ago before the fight with Nate Diaz.
